We were given a unique opportunity to design this kitchen in Sevenoaks. The client gave us free rein on design and was extremely open to our material suggestions. It resulted in this, a completely one of a kind kitchen with state of the art appliances and a range of top quality materials. The variation in finishes and textures works together making the space feel sophisticated yet with a sense of warmth. Impressing guests when hosting, whilst being completely functional as a busy family home.
Starting along the back wall with book matched, floor to ceiling height oak veneer doors. Including two hidden pocket doors, one into the pantry and one into a secret playroom. The middle two doors boasts a double larder cupboard.
The gaggenau fridge and freezer slot into the design seamlessly, tying in with the stainless steel worktop material. The hob and ovens on the island are Fisher & Paykel, with the Elica illusion extractor above the island ensuring no part of the design was hindered by a traditional extractor.
The island frontage is Fenix board, soft and satin to the touch whilst being an extremely durable material which is ideal for a kitchen of a busy family. The impressive size of the island allowed us to create different zones. The cooking zone is on one side, in the middle. One end features an oak top around the corner to create a seating zone, somewhere for the kids to sit or to relax with a glass of wine at the end of the day. The other end of the island is the wet zone, wrapped by a stunning natural stone with the sink and a dishwasher either side.We have pushed the plinth line back on the island to give that floating effect.
The furthest wall boasts a place for storage ,a full wall of three quarter height cabinets, reeded glass panels and sprayed doors. The reeded glass blurs what’s inside the cabinet so there’s no need to be super tidy!
